🩸 The Passover
Just before the great deliverance from Egypt, God didn’t give Moses logistical instructions about the escape — He gave commands about worship. Before anything else, they were to prepare for the Passover, a sacred act that placed redemption at the center of their identity.
Every household was to prepare a lamb. No part of it was to be wasted. If a family was too small, they were to share. Blood from the lamb was to be placed on the doorposts — a visible sign of faith and obedience.
📖 Exodus 12:13–14 (KJBPNV)
The Hebrew word for Passover is Pesach, which literally means “to pass over.” That’s exactly what God did — He passed over the homes marked by blood. The angel of death saw the sign and spared those within.
This wasn’t just a historical ritual. God intended it to be a living testimony — something repeated each year to remind every generation: You are here because God saved you.
📖 Exodus 12:1–3 (KJBPNV)
God’s people are always a redeemed people. And we are called to remember — not only what God did for Israel, but what He continues to do for us now through the Lamb of God, our Messiah.
💭 Questions to Reflect On:
- Do I regularly remember what God has done for me?
- What does the blood of the Lamb mean in my life today?
- How can I make my worship more personal and full of gratitude?
🙏 A Simple Prayer:
Yahweh, thank You for passing over me. Thank You for salvation through the blood of the Lamb. May I never forget the cost of freedom. Help me live each day as someone set free. Amen.
