π Read: Exodus 7:14 – 8:19
God’s power was put on display through the first three plagues in Egypt—each one targeting a specific Egyptian god. These weren’t just natural disasters—they were divine messages aimed at the spiritual deception Egypt lived under. πͺπ¬⚡
π΄ First Plague: The Nile Turns to Blood (Exod. 7:17–25)
The Nile was worshiped as Hapi, the river god who gave life to Egypt. But when Moses stretched out his staff, the water turned to blood. Fish died, the river stank, and the people suffered. ππ
—Exodus 7:17, NKJV
π‘ Lesson: Only the living God is the true Source of life. Water, food, even breath—all come from Him (Gen. 1; Ps. 104:27-28).
πΈ Second Plague: Frogs Overrun the Land (Exod. 8:1–15)
Frogs symbolized the fertility goddess Heqet, often depicted with a frog's head. Ironically, the Egyptians detested frog infestation, even while worshiping them. God used what they idolized to become a curse! πΈπ·
Yet Pharaoh hardened his heart again—even when the frogs died and stank throughout Egypt.
π¦ Third Plague: Gnats (Exod. 8:16–19)
This plague came with no warning. Moses struck the dust, and it became gnats (or lice, mosquitoes, etc.). This was a direct challenge to Geb, god of the earth. Even Pharaoh’s magicians gave up, declaring:
—Exodus 8:19, NKJV
Despite their words, Pharaoh’s heart remained unmoved. ❌
π Hardened by Rejection
Pharaoh wasn’t struck hard by surprise. He was warned—and repeatedly chose defiance. Over time, rejecting truth numbs the soul. The heart hardens. πͺ¨
π¬ Call to Action (CTA):
π§ Have you been ignoring a spiritual nudge lately? Is God calling you to change something or let something go? Don’t delay—respond while your heart is still open. ππ
