When God Calls, Everything Changes
๐️ Week 2 – Sabbath (July 5)
When God Calls, Everything Changes
(Based on Exodus 3:1–22)
Sometimes God shows up in ways you can’t ignore.
For Moses, it was a bush on fire that wouldn’t burn up — a phenomenon so out of place that he had to stop what he was doing just to look. That moment marked the beginning of a divine mission. And from that moment forward, nothing would be the same.
“I have surely seen the oppression of My people… I have heard their cry… I know their sorrows… So I have come down to deliver them.”
— Exodus 3:7–8 (NKJV)
God didn’t just see the pain of His people — He acted. And in His plan, He chose Moses to lead the rescue. But Moses wasn’t exactly excited about it.
๐ฅ A Holy Disruption
Maybe you’ve had moments when life was going one way… and then God interrupted.
Moses had settled into a quiet shepherd’s life in Midian. His royal past in Egypt was behind him. His future? Predictable. Safe. Simple.
And then the bush burned.
God called his name and gave him a mission that would shake kingdoms.
๐ฌ Reluctant? You’re Not Alone
Moses didn’t jump into the call with bold confidence. In fact, this week’s story will show us just how unwilling he was at first.
-
“Who am I to do this?”
-
“What if they don’t believe me?”
-
“I’m not a good speaker.”
-
“Can’t You send someone else?”
Sound familiar?
God’s call doesn’t always arrive with applause. It often comes with tension, uncertainty, and fear. But here’s the truth: God’s direction is always better than ours — even when it takes us out of our comfort zone.
✨ This Week’s Theme
We’ll walk with Moses this week as he:
-
Encounters God in the desert
-
Questions his own ability
-
Wrestles with fear
-
Learns that obedience > confidence
You may have your own burning bush moment. Maybe you’ve already had one.
The question is:
Will you answer when God calls — even if it disrupts your plans?
